What is VRBO?
Vrbo was created by David Clouse in 1995 in Aurora, Colorado, with the goal of renting his Breckenridge Ski Resort condo. The platform quickly gained popularity among homeowners seeking to list their properties for short-term rentals. In 2006, Vrbo was acquired by HomeAway, a vacation rental marketplace. In 2015, Expedia Group acquired HomeAway, including Vrbo, for $3.9 billion.
